ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
17th August 2020
Dear Member,
The Gibraltar Darts Association Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 26th August 2020 at 7pm. The venue will be the Europa Stadium Terrace to the south of the main seating area. All members are encouraged to attend and vote on the proposals and elect the Committee for the following season.
All persons attending will be required to sanitise their hands upon entering. The wearing of masks is encouraged.

Semi-Finalists (Joseph Ward, Joseph Borge, Nico Bado, Dylan Duo Jnr)
On Wednesday 4th March the Gibraltar Darts Youth Academy hosted their fourth Ranking event of the 2019/20 season. The ranking took place at the “George Federico Darts Hall”, the home of darts in Gibraltar.
Once again it was a brilliant night, with a record number of 29 players. The highest turnout so far this season.
The 6 Ranking events are seeded with four seeded players. The seeded players for the first 3 Rankings are based on the top 4 highest players from the previous year, which are Dylan Duo Jnr (Seed 1), Joseph Borge (Seed 2), Casey Dyer (Seed 3) & Elton Victory (Seed 4). However, for the last 3 Rankings the four seeded players will change to whoever is in the top 4 of the league at the time the 4th Ranking is played.
The current four seeded players are, Nicholas Fortunato (Seed 1), Nico Bado (Seed 2), Casey Dyer (Seed 3) & Dylan Duo Jnr (Seed 4).

The George Federico Darts Hall was a hive of activity once again for the fourth of seven Ranking Tournaments, the Europa Stadium Singles.
35 players registered hoping to gain Ranking points and thus represent Gibraltar in International Competitions.
Early rounds of this seeded tournament are played as best of 7 legs and played over 8 boards, with 8 seeded players.

Semi-Finalists (Joseph Borge, Casey Dyer, Dylan Duo Jnr, Jason Segui)
On Thursday 13th February the Gibraltar Darts Youth Academy hosted their third Ranking event of the 2019/20 season. The ranking took place at the “George Federico Darts Hall”, the home of darts in Gibraltar.
Just like the first and second ranking events it was another brilliant night, with a great turnout of 25 players.
The 6 Ranking events are seeded with four seeded players. The seeded players for the first 3 Rankings are based on the top 4 highest players from the previous year, which are Dylan Duo Jnr (Seed 1), Joseph Borge (Seed 2), Casey Dyer (Seed 3) & Elton Victory (Seed 4). However, for the last 3 Rankings the four seeded players will change to whoever is in the top 4 of the league at the time the 4th Ranking is played.

Winners (Juan Carlos Muñoz, Barry McLaren, Daryl Vassallo)
The League Trebles Tournament took place last night at the George Federico Darts Hall at Europa Stadium. This is a popular tournament, played in a relaxed atmosphere. The short format, best of 3 means anything can happen.
30 players registered to play making 10 teams, meaning 2 preliminary matches needed to be played. These were;
Takahashi/Harry/Ibon 0-2 David/Dylan/Christian
Luie/Christian/William 0-2 Justin H/Justin B/Sean
The Quarter Finals were much closer matches, with some good scoring all round. Results were as follows;

The George Federico Darts Hall hosted the third of seven Ranking Tournaments of the Darts Season, the Carmelo Ellul Trophy. This tournament was named in honour of the Late Carmelo Ellul who along with Dave Obee formed the GDA back in 1958, and served on the Committee for many years.
35 players registered to attempt to gain Ranking points and gain the opportunity to represent Gibraltar in International Competitions.

On Wednesday 26th January the Gibraltar Darts Youth Academy hosted their second Ranking event of the 2019/20 season. The ranking took place at the “George Federico Darts Hall”, the home of darts in Gibraltar.
Once again it was a brilliant turnout with a total of 24 youngsters turning up.
The 6 Rankings are seeded with four seeded players. The seeded players for the first 3 Rankings are based on the top 4 highest players from the previous year, which are Dylan Duo Jnr (Seed 1), Joseph Borge (Seed 2), Casey Dyer (Seed 3) & Elton Victory (Seed 4). On Wednesday 15th January the Gibraltar Darts Youth Academy hosted their first Ranking event of the 2019/20 season. The ranking took place at the “George Federico Darts Hall”, the new home of darts in Gibraltar.
It’s been a few years since the Youth Academy had seen such a healthy turnout for their ranking events, a total of 23 youngsters participated, of which 15 made their debuts.
The 6 Rankings are seeded with four seeded players. The seeded players for the first 3 Rankings are based on the top 4 highest players from the previous year, which are Dylan Duo Jnr (Seed 1), Joseph Borge (Seed 2), Casey Dyer (Seed 3) & Elton Victory (Seed 4). GDA says farewell to 2019 with the annual Turkey Shoot.
The George Federico Darts Hall at the Europa Stadium hosted the final tournament of 2019 last night, the Annual Turkey Shoot!
Only 12 players turned up due to clashes with popular football events but those who did had a great time and the tournament was played in a jovial atmosphere.

On Wednesday 4th December the George Federico Darts Hall was the scene of the long standing Mixed Pairs & Mixed Trebles Tournaments. The GDA is keen to encourage more women to take up the sport as there are opportunities to represent Gibraltar at International Level. Ladies darts is increasing in popularity across the world with some excellent performances seen recently.
